Solo l'invito al terzo matrimonio della cugina può costringerla a un fine settimana nella sua città d'origine. Alice l'ha scelta come damigella d'onore e Lidia non ha scuse per evitare le nozze. Lidia ha in programma di fermarsi a Napoli solo pochi giorni, ma il destino per lei ha in serbo altri piani. In una manciata di ore, si ritrova l'unica erede dell'attività di famiglia, l'amatissima bottega di rigattiere del padre Felice, che ne aveva fatto un luogo di incontro per gli abitanti del rione anche grazie al suo eccezionale caffè. L'Italia celebra il 2 giugno la festa della Repubblica, una festa nazionale che commemora la data in cui gli italiani hanno votato per abolire la monarchia e formare una repubblica. Nel 1946, la seconda guerra mondiale era appena terminata - e con essa il fascismo - e il popolo italiano era ansioso di inaugurare un nuovo capitolo della libertà. Da allora l'Italia è una repubblica parlamentare unitaria.
Di conseguenza, il 2 giugno è una grande festa nel nostro paese. Uffici, banche e scuole chiudono; grandi sfilate marciano; e una corona cerimoniale viene posta sulla Tomba del Milite Ignoto. La tomba e la sua fiamma eterna sono custodite nell'Altare della Patria a Roma, simbolo moderno dell'Italia.
Italy celebrates Republic Day on June 2nd, a national holiday that commemorates the date when Italians voted to abolish the monarchy and form a republic.In 1946, World War II had just ended – and with it Fascism – and the Italian people were eager to usher in a new chapter of freedom. Since then, Italy has been a unitary parliamentary republic. Accordingly, June 2 is a major holiday in our home country. The tomb and its eternal flame are enshrined in the Altare della Patria in Rome, a modern symbol of Italy.

Si tratta di uno degli eventi folkloristici più importanti d’Italia, prende vita in Puglia a partire dalla fine di giugno e si protrarrà per tutta l'estate. Questo festival celebra la musica tradizionale salentina, con danze sfrenate, suoni ipnotici e ritmi che evocano la tradizione della pizzica. Durante il mese di giugno i diversi borghi del sud della Puglia offriranno intrattenimenti e feste legate all'antica danza popolare creando un’atmosfera di festa e coinvolgimento per tutti i partecipanti.
